How this ACT score calculator works

This calculator covers the Enhanced ACT Composite for tests beginning September 2025. It accepts the reported English, Math, and Reading section scores and applies ACT’s published averaging and rounding rule.

Supported test version

Enhanced ACT · September 2025 onward. ACT phased in the updated Composite for National online testing in April 2025, then applied it across all test modes in September 2025. This calculator supports the period beginning September 2025 only.

Legacy reports and the April–August 2025 transition are not supported. If you are unsure which format applies, use the score printed on your official report.

Formula

(English + Math + Reading) ÷ 3
Round to the nearest whole number
0.50 and above rounds up

Each section score must be a whole number from 1 to 36. Writing is not included. Science is reported separately and is not part of this Composite.

Example

(33 + 30 + 32) ÷ 3 = 31.67 → 32

The result includes the input snapshot and calculation so you can check each step.
